Millau Bridge was the highest in the world when it eas built - higher than Eiffel tower. It shortens the driving from Paris to South France by almost an hour.
I visited Millau, yet at that time (1994) Millau Bridge have not been built yet, nor did I know that they are going to build it.

Later a higher bridge was built in China.
P.S. When asking a French person the way to Millau, try not to pronounce the "L" in Millau. French people pronounce it "Miyau," like a usual cat pronounces it, and never heard about the city/bridge of Millau...
So, you may ask in French:
"U-eh Miyau?"
meaning: "where is Millau?"
